Upon the agreement, Germany committed an amount of 750.000 Euro to strengthen the capacities of the Yemen Coastguards by supporting its medical care facilities. "The German Government is convinced that the strengthening of the Yemen Coastguards will contribute to security and peace in the Gulf of Aden", German ambassador to Yemen Klor-Berchtold underlined, "We appreciate very much the recent successes of the Yemen Coastguards in fighting piracy. We decided to support the medical facilities of the Coast Guard to reach two objectives: assisting the Coast Guard in its important work and improving the access to health for the population, as civilians will be treated in the medical stations of the Coast Guard as well". According to the embassy's press release, Germany will build and equip three medical stations of the Coastguards in Aden, Khoramera and on the island Perim.
