Parliament Speaker Sultan al-Barakani discussed Wednesday with
Ambassador of the United Kingdom Richard Obinham mutual relations
between the two countries and latest developments in Yemen, especially
in political and economic fields.
Al-Barakani reviewed different conditions in Yemen, especially suffering of Yemeni people over deteriorated economic condition and fall down of Riyal Price due to Houthi militia's coup and stubbornness of this criminal militia to resort to peace and its rejection to all peace initiatives and calls, as well as breaching all agreements.
He called upon the UK and friendly countries to rescue the economic condition in Yemen.
He also reviewed government's experience in its dialogue with Houthi militia for the sake of realizing peace in accordance with the three agreed upon references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.
He pointed out that the government made concessions for ending the war and realizing peace while Houthi militia rejected all these initiatives and escalated its terrorist operations against Yemeni cities led by Marib.
He stressed significance of international community's role to exert pressure on Houthi militia to resort to peace and to stop its military escalation, confirming that neglecting Houthi militia's crimes has encouraged the militia to continue its stubbornness and rejection of all peace initiatives.
For his part, the UK diplomat uttered his country's understanding of all what is happening in Yemen and that his country will work with Saudi Arabia and international community to rescue Yemen from its crisis.
He confirmed that Yemen has big concern in UK policies as Yemen's unity, security and sovereignty is an issue of international consensus and that he will do his best to for the sake of realizing security and stability in Yemen.
