Hadramout cultural heritage to be exhibited in Singapore

Undersecretary of Hadramout governorate Ahmed al-Junaid discussed here
on Tuesday with head of Singaporean National Central Library's
delegation Zahara'a al-Junaid the arrangements for holding an
exhibition for the cultural heritage of Hadramout in Singapore during
the year 2010. The exhibition will show the cultural heritage of
Hadramout people and their cultural impacts on Southeast Asian
countries' peoples through their past migrations as well as their
affection by those countries' culture and brought it back to Hadramout
through architecture and other fields. During the meeting, the
governorate undersecretary asserted the significance of the exhibition
as a part of the cultural dialogue with those countries and highlights
the role of Hadramout migrants in calling for Islam in Southeast Asia.
He expressed the Local Authority's keenness on cooperating with the
Singaporean delegation in collecting some cultural pieces to be
exhibited in the exhibition. For her part, the Singaporean
official confirmed that the exhibition which will be held in the
capital of Singapore will appear the role of Yemenis, particularly
Hadramout's people, in stabilizing virtues and teachings of Islam and
their prominent cultural contributions in those countries.
