President Ali Abdullah Saleh rewarded on Saturday Special Olympics floor hockey team who won first place in the world hockey championship in United States. President Saleh also met champions of 6th regional championship for Special Olympics for Middle East and North African which was held in United Arab Emirates last year. President congratulated the team and champions for their big sports achievements, especially getting gold medal in the world floor hockey championship. He said that the team would receive all care and concern. President Saleh gave orders to the ministry of youths and sports and ministry of social affairs and labor to offer support for the team, asking to allocate land for building a hall for the team as well as transport mean. Yemen’s Special Olympics team won second place in the world hockey championships in Japan in 2005. Now, their even more significant victory in the USA will be added to their resume.
