The Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) Secretary General demanded on Tuesday to quickly stop foreign interference in the region's states.
In his speech in the Gulf Research Meeting in Dubai, Abdul Latif al-Zayani warned of the danger of the continuation of foreign interference, either by regional neighboring countries or international powers, in the internal affairs of the region's states.
In the meeting organized by the Gulf Research Center (GRC) in collaboration with Cambridge University, the GCC Secretary General said interfering countries - in order to maximize their regional influences - seek through their local agents to strengthen their interests, which cause major problems in the internal affairs of the interfered countries.
He touched upon the role the GCC states are playing to succeed and support the transitional process in Yemen via by the GCC-brokered initiative, which steered Yemen away from a potential civil war and reached a political settlement paved the way to a peaceful transfer of power, stressing the GCC states' adherence to continue to support Yemen.
Al-Zayani emphasized that the GCC States' support for the political change in the region's States, provided it is organized and does not affect the regional stability.
