Technical Education Minister meets UNDP's advisor

Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training Dr. Abdul-Hafez Numan met here on Monday with the UNDP's Crisis Prevention and Recovery Advisor, Rosemary Willey-Al'Sanah.
They reviewed the vision of the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training on the project 'Resilience-building in conflict settings', which is to be financed by the European Union (EU) at a cost of 35 million euros and its implementation is to begin in 2015.
In the meeting, Numan highly valued the EU's efforts in supporting the political and economic stability in Yemen. He affirmed the consultation and coordination regarding the developmental projects would have a positive impact in the economic development path.
The UNDP's advisor touched on the nature and components of the project which aims to enable young people to access to suitable job opportunities.
She pointed out that the project comes within the national plan of the government to employ youth and consists of three main themes: are the unemployed youth, the vocational training and the legal environment of work, employment and self-employment.
Al'Sanah noted that a team from the International Labour Organization (ILO), EU and UNDP is currently working with officials and specialists in the relevant government agencies, including the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training, to consult on drafting of the project draft and integrating the ministry's vision in the components of the project.
