HRITC trains human rights activists

Sana'a (NewsYemen)- The Taiz-based Human Rights Information and Training Center (HRITC) will hold a training course for 30 human rights activists in the Bahraini capital, Manama, in November 5-7. The course, to be held in cooperation with the German Conrad Adenauer Foundation and the Bahraini Human Rights Society, will include human rights advocators from Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Yemen. Chairman of the HRITC, Ezaddin al-Asbahi, said the trainees will be trained by human rights experts from France, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. There will be workshops on the UN's mechanisms of human rights protection, the International Human Rights Law and the regional conventions of human rights, he said. In addition, the course will highlight other specialized treaties such as the International Treaty for Child Rights, the U.N. Convention on Discrimination against Women and the International Criminal Court. The course comes in the framework of a regional training program the HRITC has started since seven years.
