VP calls on voters to partake in presidential election on February

Vice President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi issued Saturday a presidential decree No. (27) for 2011 calling on voters to head to the polls on February 21, 2012 to elect a new president. The presidential decree was issued after reviewing the Yemeni Constitution, Law No. 13 of 2001 and the presidential decree No. 24 for 2011 giving Vice President a mandate to conduct a dialogue with the Gulf initiative's signatory parties, in addition to the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism signed in Riyadh on November 23, 2011.
The decree stipulates that the early presidential election will be conducted under the management and supervision of the current Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendum (SCER), the election law and electoral roll.
