President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi expressed Saturday his fears of revolution of the hungry generated by the ten month-long crisis in the country.
Hadi voiced his worries during a meeting brought him together with the ambassadors of the permanent members of UN Security Council in Yemen and UN envoy Jamal Bin Omar. The Yemeni people are no longer able to sustain more of this crisis that has included the political, security and economic areas and affected roughly all classes of the people, Hadi said. After the criminal attack on the presidential palace's mosque, a deal was made to drive the armed militias and tribesmen out of the capital Sana'a and other cities and not to damage the country's infrastructures, "but none of that has been achieved", the Vice President said. Over 75 % of the people have no relationship to what is happening and are not affiliates to any political parties, but they nevertheless were the most affected in the various aspects of life, he added. The Vice President made reference to the UN resolution 2014, saying its implementation was the task of the ruling party and opposition equally. Concerning the negotiations with the opposition, Hadi said around 85% have been achieved, adding that the rest would be reached when there were sincere intentions. The UN envoy emphasized importance of completing immediately the political settlement in Yemen. The Security Council monitors closely the situation in Yemen, hoping that the settlement to be occurred as soon as possible, Bin Omar said. The 21st November is the date to submit a report to the Security Council on the Yemeni situation and the progress achieved to end the crisis, He said. For their parts, the diplomats stressed the significance of exerting tireless and honest efforts to accelerate finding a political, peaceful and democratic solution to the Yemeni crisis as quickly as possible. They pointed to the considerable achievement in this regard, saying that all the related sides should bear the national and historical responsibly to complete the final arrangements.
