Egypt's minister of Workforce and Social Affairs Ayesha Abdel Hadi said Yemen had decided to exempt Egyptian laborers from migrant workers stay
fees. The state-run 26sep.net quoted Abdel Hadi as saying the
move comes in response to discussions that took place between the
minister and Yemeni counterpart and other officials during her last
visit to the country two months ago. She made clear that at a
meeting with prime minister Ali Muhammad Mujawar the two agreed that
the two countries exempt Egyptian and Yemen laborers from immigrant
stay imposed fees. She hailed the Yemeni quick response and
decisions that as she says will help encourage the movement of
workforce between the two countries. She said that the step
marked the culmination of the bilateral relationship between the two
countries, adding the future will witness further cooperation on all
fronts particularly on labor. She said delegations and
committees from both sides will exchange visits to swap experiences and
discuss issues in relation to professional training and safety as well
as group negotiations.
