Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hemiar al-Ahmar met here on Wednesday with U.S ambassador to Yemen Gerald Feierstein.
Al-Ahmar and Feierstein touched on the existing arrangements for the upcoming meeting of Yemen's Friends Group, which included the United States of America.
The meeting discussed parliamentary relations between the two friendly countries and ways of boosting them.Al-Ahmar expressed his appreciation of the US attitudes towards the democracy in Yemen, looking forward to broaden the current partnership between with the United States.For his part, Feierstein expressed his country's welcome to the President Ali Abdullah Saleh's initiative to resume dialogue with the political parties aiming to enhance security and stability and boost democracy in Yemen.On the other hand, al-Ahmar held talks with Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Ali bin Mohammed al-Hamdan on the current developments in the region in addition to the joint cooperation between the two countries.At the meeting, Al-Ahmar valued the Saudi's supportive attitudes to Yemen, opining hopes for further cooperation and partnership between the two brotherly countries.Al-Hamdan voiced his country's support for Yemen's unity, stability and security, praising President Saleh's initiative concerning the resumption of dialogue with the opposition parties.
