PM inaugurates pneumococcal vaccine

Prime Minister Ali Mujawar launched on Saturday entering of the pneumococcal vaccine within activities of the expanded immunization for children under a year.
Mujawar affirmed that the government has taken a number of measures amid at to enhance healthcare in general and vaccination activities and prevention of deadly diseases in particular, either through routine vaccination or seasonal vaccination through campaigns
Adding pneumococcal vaccine to the routine immunization activities gain a special importance for its development priority associated with the general health, the premier said.
He said that the vaccination program has a great role in protecting children from the deadly childhood diseases, which drain a lot of resources in providing medicines and nursing and might worsen leading to death.Mujawar appreciated efforts of employees working in health facilities and efforts of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations (GAVI) and its support to Yemen through financing the value of this vaccine, and the World Health Organization (WHO)'s supports and its continued partnership with Yemen.
