Yemen, WFP sign $77 mln security food network agreement

Yemen and World Food Programme (WFP) signed here on Monday an agreement on security food network project with a total cost $77 million Under the agreement, WFP grants the $77 million to be allocated to carry out the security food network project that aims to support the government's efforts to improve the security food capacities in Yemen.The projects targets 682,000 children and 88,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women and 1,800,000 people suffering from the food insecurity in Yemen. The agreement was signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi and the WFP representative in Yemen Gian Carlo Cirri. Cirri accented the WFP's keenness on keeping on presenting all possible assistance to help Yemen's strenuous efforts to realize the food security.
