FM in Kuwait soon to head Yemeni side in Joint Committee

Yemeni-Kuwaiti Ministerial Committee is to hold its next session in Kuwait during 24-26 January, the 26 September Newspaper reported on Thursday.
Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, who will head the Yemeni side in the committee's meetings, told the 26 September Newspaper that the committee would assess the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially since the first session in Aden in February 2009.He said that the committee would sign, at the conclusion of its session, a number of agreements and cooperation programs in several areas to serve the common interests. The committee would discuss political coordination between the two countries and exchange viewpoints towards different regional and international issues of common concern, in addition to the underway preparations for holding the ministerial meeting of Yemen's Friends Group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the importance of Kuwait's active role in this meeting, al-Qirbi added.Al-Qirbi expressed Yemen's appreciation for the vital role has been played and still by Kuwait in supporting development plans and programs in Yemen, noting that the joint committee would launch a new stage of cooperation.It is noteworthy that the joint committee signed in February 2009 six agreements including the establishment of a joint committee between the two countries, and bilateral cooperation agreements in tourism, security and economic areas, as well as foreign affairs and documentation and archiving fields.
