An Interior Ministry official said on Sunday that the Yemeni Socialist Party's member Mohamed Ghaleb Ahmed has been handed over to the public prosecution. The prosecution summoned Ahmed on Saturday to investigate him on the background of statements made by one of the outlaws, called Tahir Tammah, on the involvement of the Joint Meeting Parties (JMPs) in financing sabotage acts to disrupt the 20th Gulf Cup tournament, the security official added.Tammah said that the JMPs' leadership has provided YR 10 million for outlaws via Mohamed Ghaleb Ahmed in order to carry out acts of sabotage that would thwart the 20th Gulf championship hosted recently in Yemen's southern provinces of Aden and Abyan.According to the prosecution, Tammah's remarks included critical information revealing the JMPs' involvement in incidents of sabotage and encouraging lawless acts to disturb security and stability and threaten social peace and public order in the country. The security official added that if confirmed, the JMPs' leadership would be subject to legal questioning about that.
