General Investment Authority (GIA) inaugurated on Sunday Aden Gulf project- first stage to be implemented at Aden Free Zone (AFZ) with an estimated cost of $50 million.
The project implemented by Aden Gulf Company includes establishing a multi-purpose economic zone with industrial, storage, logistic, residential and trade components that will develop the infrastructure of AFZ.At the inauguration ceremony, General of GIA Salah al-Attar affirmed that the project will significantly contribute to boosting Aden position as a trade center in the region."Aden Gulf project contains putting up areas of trade, residence, light industry and logistic service in addition to the quay's maritime facilities" al-Attar said, pointing that the project reflects the government's directions to activate partnership between public and private sectors.Aden is open for various local and foreign investments, al-Attar said, affirming the GIA's keenness to support the project with all its stages to create a competitive economy supporting the economic growth as well as creating job opportunities.After the ceremony, the project's agreements were signed in AFZ by Aden Gulf Development Company and each of AECOM Technology Services and Brooke Capital Corporation (Brooke Wood) to work as main advisors to develop Aden Gulf project at AFZ and Aden harbor.
