Senior Iranian official due in Yemen soon

Iranian Vice-President Esfandiar Rahim Mashaee is to visit Yemen on 22 December, well-informed sources said on Thursday. The sources told the weekly 26 September that the state visit of the Iranian official aims to convey a letter to President Ali Abdullah Saleh from Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the bilateral relations, joint cooperation and issues of common concerns in the region.Worth mentioning is that Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi met last week with the Iranian counterpart on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue Regional Security Conference. They discussed cooperation relations and means of coordination between Yemen and Iran.
