In a meeting held today in Al-Sheher District, reviewed the operational procedures to initiate the establishment of artificial fish pastures in Hadhramaut Dhabba area.
project is going to be implemented by the company (Mac and Elliott Jackets Bartners) with funding from the British company Canadian Nexen Petroleum.The implementation of the project was discussed in a meeting which was chaired by Hadhramaut's Governor Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi along with Local Council Secretary General Khalid Saeed Al-deini and officials from the fisheries, oil, minerals, the local authority and the branch of fish General Union and fishery associations. Also present in the meeting are fishermen representatives the Canadian Nexen company.During the meeting, the executing company reviewed the operational phases of the project which is expected to become operational by early next year, it contains the pastures of superficial, artificial fish at three sites on the coastal strip, two of them in Al-SSHEHER and one in the SHEHEIR. Governor Khanbashi expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, Canadian Nexen Inc as well their support for the establishment of this project, which will in return will be in favor to the fishermen in the coastal strip of Hadramout governorate. he confirmed that the the local authority in the province is taking interest in all the issues concerning the fishermen and is ready to work on them so as to contribute to the upgrading of its activity, production and marketing .. The discussions during the meeting stressed on the importance of the implementation of these artificial pastures because they pose an an importance to the fishermen in the region and compensation for pastures and natural coral reefs for fish that was replaced by Dhabba oil port
