Prime Minister Ali Mujawar met here on Saturday with the U.S. ambassador to Yemen Gerald Feierstein. They discussed cooperation relations between the two friendly countries and their current priorities and future trends, especially in the economic and developmental areas.They touched on the next meeting of the Group of Friends of Yemen to be held in Riyadh, and the ongoing preparations by the government for topics scheduled to be presented to the meeting, including indicators of the fourth five-year plan for economic development 2011-2015 and ten priorities of development, with an emphasis on the U.S. key role in supporting Yemen's efforts to achieve the goals desired from the meeting.At the meeting, the premier dealt with a number of policies and programs executed within the implementation of the national agenda for reforms.He pointed the importance of international support for such polices and programs to strengthen the government's capabilities and efforts in the comprehensive reforms process and to meet the challenges, topped by the development and economic ones, as well as the security challenge related to the fight against terrorism.Mujawar expressed his hope that the Riyadh meeting would be a new station of the international community support for Yemen in its security programs to overcome those challenges accurately associated with the economic area.tFor his part, the U.S. ambassador confirmed his country's support to those policies, particularly the economic ones, pointing to the readiness of his country to provide the necessary technical support for Yemeni government in this field. He stressed that the U.S, in addition to its cooperation with Yemen in the security field, it is equally keen to support Yemen for the development of its economic abilities, alluding to the exiting cooperation between Yemen and the International Monetary Fund and the positive results achieved within this cooperation for the benefit of the Yemeni economy
