Yemen, Russia discuss cooperation in transport

Minister of Transport Khalid al-Wazir discussed on Wednesday with Russian ambassador to Yemen Sergei Kozlov cooperation between the two countries in various transport areas and means of boosting them to serve the common interests. The two sides discussed the possibility of engaging Russian investors in the investment projects currently under way in the field of transport in Yemen.
Among those projects is the railway project to link the cities of the country to each other and to link Yemen to the GCC countries by POT system, with private sector companies across the world through an international tender.Al-Wazir welcomed Russian investments in Yemen in the various transport areas, confirming the readiness of his ministry to offer all facilities and support to Russian investors in order to invest in these areas.He noted the advantages provided by the Yemeni newly-approved investment law, which gives a lot of guarantees for local, Arab and foreign investors, including the ownership of land for foreign investments as well as customs and tax exemptions. For his part, the Russian ambassador welcomed the entry of any Russian investment company in the transport areas in Yemen
