Yemen, US to improve inspection procedures in local airports

Chairman of Customs Authority Mohammed Zamam discussed on Monday with Transport and Security Supervisor at the US embassy in Sana'a Julian Prosour procedures taken by the Customs Authority in order to promote control and inspection procedures in the Yemen airports, Sana'a International Airport in particular.
During the meeting, Zamam affirmed keenness of the Authority to reinforce coordination between Yemen and the USA so as to get acquainted with customs control systems in Sana'a International Airport to be evaluated and present any suggestions contributing to upgrading the customs control work.
He pointed to the importance of training customs cadres on how to operate and maintain check systems the US government presented to Yemen in the form of aid.
For his part, the US expert praised capacities of the Authority staff in utilizing such inspection systems to achieve preciseness in procedures of customs control.
