Yemen partakes in mass gathering medicine conference in Jeddah

Yemen took part in the Conference of Mass Gathering Medicine which was kicked off on Saturday in Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia.
The three-day conference will discuss the possibilities to establish a new medical specialty for mass gathering and an international researches center for this major to be headquartered in Jeddah. Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul-Karim Rase'a took part on Saturday in the roundtable meeting, held today on the sidelines of the Conference, which thrashed out a number of health issues, topped by experience of Saudi Arabia in combating malaria, dengue fever and bilharzias.The minister commended experience of Saudi Arabia in combating malaria, specially in the border region with Yemen, noting the success achieved in this move.He noted that a joint campaign to combat malaria will be launched next week in Yemen targeting 650 thousand houses. The conference is attended by health ministers of the Gulf States, Lebanon, USA and Germany, and the WHO Director General and the Regional Director of WHO
