Yemen, UNFP discuss needs of population activities

)-Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Amat al-Razaq Humad met on Sunday with the Regional Director of the United Nations Fund for Population (UNFP) for the Arab region Hafez Choucair. At the meeting, they discussed Yemen's needs and priorities at the population activities in light of the in light of the fourth Five-year plan for socioeconomic development 2010-2015, and how the Fund's activities synchronize with the objectives and plans of the Ministry.For his part, Choucair voiced the Fund's interest to implement training courses for building the institutions' capacities and developing their efficiencies as well as activities to provide services.The two sides also discussed the future vision to support the social protection programs in Saada province, and the role of the Fund in supporting programs of women and development within the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.In addition, they dealt with the activities and programs of the Ministry, which are supported by the Fund, in the health area.
