Yemen, Turkey talk over transport cooperation

Minister of Transport Khalid al-Wazir met on Wednesday with the Turkish businessmen delegation currently visiting Yemen ,led by Director of Foreign Economic Relations Sadik Yildiz Talks in the meeting dealt with areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields of transport and means of boosting them to serve the mutual interests.The two sides discussed the possibility of entering Turkish investors in investment projects currently put forth in the field of transport in Yemen, including the railway project to link the cities of Yemen to each other and Yemen to the GCC countries with a (B.O.T) system, along with global private sector companies.They also talked about the possibility of engaging Turkish investors in a project to get a strategic partner for the Yemeni Shipyards Company in the Port of Aden, as well as projects of constructing new seaports in Socotra and Mukalla. Al-Wazir welcomed the Turkish investments in Yemen in various areas of transport, confirming his ministry's readiness to provide all facilities and support to the Turkish investors to invest in these areas.He noted to the advantages provided by the Yemen investment law, recently approved, which gives a lot of guarantees for local, Arab and foreign investors including the ownership of foreign investment lands and customs and tax exemptions
