The number of people with AIDS/HIV increased in the first half of 2010 in Yemen to 3071, the National Anti-AIDS Programme said on Sunday. Director of the programme Abdul Hamid al Suhaibi said 189 new cases were registered in the first six months, urging to provide more awareness programmes to help the AIDS patients and prevent further spread of the disease.
Yemen reported the first AIDS case in 1987..
