Governor of Sana'a Numan Dowaid met on Sunday the executive director of Responsive Governance Project (RGP)in Yemen Yousuf Jedian During the meeting, they discussed the project's plans to hold dialogue forums in Nehm district to discuss the area's problems with the concerned people to involve them in preparing the policies.Counterpart International, the lead implementer of the Responsive Governance Project (RGP) in Yemen, funded by the US Agency for International Aid (USAID), launched program activities in conjunction with RGP's implementing partners Research Triangle Institute (RTI), and the National Democratic Institute (NDI).
The 3-year multi-sector project intends to assist Yemeni citizens and their government to create greater responsiveness and accountability as well as broader participation and responsibility in policy making and government service delivery to communities across the country.By the end of the project, the main milestones which are set to be achieved include: public policies in place to promote equitable social and economic development, measurable improvements in government services, and new community institutions and mechanisms in place to increase and sustain citizen participation in locally-driven solutions and good governance.
