Consultations between Yemen and donors in Sana'a

A consultations meeting was held here on Wednesday between the Yemeni government and community of donors, chaired by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi In the meeting, al-Arhabi noted to the keenness of the community of donors to support the development in Yemen, pointing that the fourth five-year plan for development and reducing poverty (2011-2015)has been prepared with full participation at the local and central levels, including all provinces and ministries as well as the private sector.
The plan included the macroeconomic framework, sectoral plans, and investment program of the plan, which has been prepared by a Yemeni team with technical and consultative support by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), al-Arhabi explained.Furthermore, al-Arhabi pointed to the importance of activating the donors' role in supporting the government's efforts to achieve a sustainable development in Yemen, alluding to the level of the existing cooperation between the government and the donors.On another hand, Undersecretaries of the Planning Ministry, Mutahar al-Abbasi and Mohamed al-Hawri, gave two detailed presentations on the components of the fourth five-year plan, and the sectoral plans at the level of provinces and details relating to the macroeconomic framework and trends of the general investment program.Moreover, Director-General of International Cooperation at the Planning Ministry, Nabil Shiban, reviewed a similar presentation for details on the effectiveness of the support provided to Yemen by the donors' community.
