GCC States keen to support development in Yemen

The Ministerial Council of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) assured on Tuesday the council states' keenness to prop up the development efforts in Yemen.
In its 116th session concluded on Tuesday in Jeddah, the GCC Ministerial Council has directed to speed up the implementation of GCC States-funded projects in Yemen that was recommended by the joint technical committee.The council welcomed the outcomes of the Emir of Qatar Hamad bin Khalifa al-Than's visit to Yemen and his meeting with President Ali Abdullah Saleh, which is considered as a step to support Yemen's security, stability and prosperity.It also applauded the host of Doha for a meeting gathered delegations of Yemeni government and Houthis to assist them to hold dialogue, which is the best solution to bring peace and stability back to Yemen.The GCC's states voiced their satisfaction of the results of the fifth joint meeting of the foreign ministers of the GCC states and Yemen which was held in Bahrain on June 22, 2010.The council was acquainted with a report of the GCC Secretary General on the progress in area of cooperation with Yemen and a minute of the meeting of the joint technical committee to determine the development needs of Yemen held at the headquarters of the GCC's General Secretariat on July 4 and 5, 2010.
