UAE Red Crescent launches charitable project in IDPs' camp

The UAE Red Crescent's office in Yemen launched on Wednesday in Harad district, Hajjah province, projects of the Holy Ramadan charitable programs in al-Merzaq camp (2) of internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Over 1500 IDPs in the camp would benefit this project and other poor families from surrounding villages to the camp. The project includes fast-breaking meals and distribution of Zakat al-Fitr (alms) and food basket containing various food materials. Speaking to Saba, director of the UAE Red Crescent office in Yemen Khalfan al-Kendi said that this project comes within the UAE Red Crescent's concerns to the affairs of IDPs and poor families surrounding the camps.He noted that the Ramadan programs are distributed in a number of provinces to alleviate the suffering of poor families and provide them with the necessary needs, praising the level of cooperation and coordination between the office and official agencies in this regard.For his part, the representative of the UAE Red Crescent in Hajjah province Abdul Rahman al-Kholani made it clear that the office contributes effectively in addressing a number of needs required by living of IDPs through charitable programs and projects.These aid confirm the depth and strength of brotherly ties between the two countries and these aid are appreciated by Yemeni people, al-Kholani pointed out.
