Defense Minister meets Russian outgoing ambassador

Minister of Defense Mohammad Naser Ahmad met here on Tuesday with Russian outgoing ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Trofimov on the occasion of ending his tenure.
The Minister hailed the great efforts exerted by the ambassador in developing the two countries' cooperation relations, affirming that the Yemeni-Russian relations have witnessed a distinctive growth assisted in strengthening the fruitful partnership between Yemen and Russia.
The mutual cooperation relations in military areas have been advanced, particularly in field of training the Yemeni military cadres, he added, confirming the last visit of President Ali Abdullah Saleh to Russia has enhanced the two countries' relations.
In return, the Russian diplomat expressed his gratitude to the support and care he has received during carrying out his tasks in Yemen, pointing to the importance of the Yemeni-Russian distinctive relations.
