Yemeni-Syrian meeting on activating bilateral security agreement

The Syrian-Yemeni Permanent Committee has discussed the required mechanisms for activating a security agreement through enhancing cooperation in combating crime, exchanging expertise and information and training.
The committee is in charge of following up the implementation of the security cooperation agreement signed between the Ministries of Interior in both countries. During a meeting co-chaired by Syrian Assistant Minister of Interior Gen. Mustafa al-Sukkari al-Musstafa and Undersecretary of Yemeni Ministry of Interior Brigadier General Fadl Bin Yahya al-Qawsi, the two sides discussed a number of issues related to overcoming the obstacles facing their countries.They also agreed to continue exchanging expertise and training plans in addition to enhancing all aspects of police cooperation between the two countries, Syrian Arab News Agency has reported.Both sides expressed desire to benefit from each other's expertise in using modern techniques, particularly those related to immigration, passports, civil status, criminal records and police operation rooms.
