Yemen, IFAD discuss $ 20 mln projects in fisheries field

Yemen, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) discussed here on Monday the implementation of projects to be funded by the Fund at a cost of USD 20 million.
The projects included improving the sustainable resources' management through managing the fish facilities and developing the fish value chain from fishing to exporting, as well as the coastal women development.In the meeting gathered Undersecretary of Ministry of Fisheries for Planning and Fish Projects Sector Abdul Hadi al-Khader and a team of experts at the Fund and the Fund's representative in Yemen Fathia Bahran ,the two sides discussed areas of cooperation between Yemen and the Fund in fisheries field.Al-Khader was briefed on the results of the team's visit to the coastal strip of Yemen, which aimed to knowing the most important needs required by the fisheries sector.In the meeting, al-Khader affirmed the keenness of the Ministry of Fisheries to provide all facilities for the implementation of the IFAD-funded projects so as to support the development of fisheries sector as one of the promising sectors.
