Workshop on promoting Yemen, ESCWA cooperation launched

An International workshop on promoting the technical cooperation and exchanging knowledge between Yemen and Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) inaugurated in Sana'a on Wednesday.
Undersecretary for Economic Research and Predictions of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammad al-Hawri affirmed that the workshop aims to enhance the technical cooperation between Yemen and ESCWA.The technical cooperation will be obtained through building the individual, institutional and social capacity as well as promoting efficiency of national cadres to implement the national programs.Al-Hawri noted that Yemen and ESCWA have taken advanced steps in strengthening the partnership by the preparation of joint programs and developing national action plans for technical cooperation.The deputy noted that the current cooperation focuses on management of water resources and energy for achieving sustainable development.It also concentrates on promoting the integrated social policies and on encouraging the economic development as well as cooperation in fields of information technology and telecommunications.
