Arab pentagonal summit kicks off in Tripoli

An Arab summit of leaders of the Five Member States in the committee, mandated to prepare a draft document for the development of joint Arab work system ,kicked off here on Monday.
The pentagonal committee summit, which comes to implement decisions of the 22nd Arab summit held in Libyan city of Surt and on the basis of the Yemeni initiative for the establishment of Arab Union and visions of a number of Arab countries, is attended by leaders of Yemen, Libya, Egypt, Qatar and Iraq and the Secretary General of Arab League Amr Moussa.
During the summit, the Arab leaders discussed future prospects provided to activate the joint Arab action and the transition from the current system of the Arab League to Union of Arab countries to ensure developing mechanisms for the Arab work and enhance the Arab nation's capacities to confront the challenges.The leaders discussed a report submitted by the Arab League's Secretariat on the findings of the pentagonal committee regarding the elaboration of the draft document to develop and promote the system of the joint Arab action, so as to translate the aspirations of Arab peoples and to move the Arab joint action to wide horizons of integration, partnership and unity.President Saleh arrived in Tripoli on Sunday for partaking in the Arab pentagonal summit that kicks off today.
