French engineers arrived in island of Miyoun to do a survey on the region where a base for the coastguard will be set up, information center of interior ministry reported on Monday.
On Sunday, Minister of Interior Mutahir al-Masri held a meeting with the Director of the Defense and Security Cooperation Directorate (DSCD) in the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Emmanuel Beth who affirmed that France is keen to promote the current security cooperation between the two countries to reinforce the capacities of the Yemeni security apparatuses in counter-terrorismBeth also reviewed the aid that France would provide for Yemen to put up the dock of Miyoun Island, saying that construction works would start in the coming days, after conducting the required surveys.The Minister made clear that the security apparatuses are attaining incessant successes in encountering the security challenges facing Yemen, topped by counter-terrorism.Yemen is one of the countries that have been sustained more damages from terrorism, al-Masri said, accentuating that the security forces have caused serious losses for the terrorist elements, particularly in the recent studied operations against al-Qaeda. The last successful operations have enhanced the Yemeni partnership to the international community in combating terrorism, the minister said.
