Course on enhancing transparency in budgets planning kicks off

A training course on the role of local councils and CSOs to enhance the transparency in planning the budgets at the local level kicked off in Mahara province on Sunday.
The course, organized by the Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption (SNACC) and Local Administration Ministry and funded by UNDP, will last for five days.
25 participants representing the local councils, executive offices and CSOs in Hawf and al-Ghaydhah districts are taking part in the course.
It aims to raise the participants' awareness and build their capacities in the field of enhancing the transparency and combating corruption.
At the course opening, governor of Mahara Mohammed Khawdam confirmed the importance of the course which is the first of its kind in combating corruption through giving the local councils and CSOs full powers to monitor work of the executive offices
