South African int'l relations minister invited to visit Yemen [

The South African Assistant Foreign Minister Christian Bason received on Saturday an invitation from Yemen Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi intended for the South African Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane to participate in the 10th meeting for Foreign Ministers of the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC) to be hosted by Sana'a in August.
The invitation was handed over by Yemen ambassador to South Africa Ali al-Ghafari to Bason who valued efforts of Yemen to host the IOR-ARC meeting.
The ambassador affirmed the importance of the participation of the South African minister, Mashabane, in the ministerial meeting of the Association in Sana'a.On the other hand, the ambassador discussed with the South African head of the Arabian Peninsula and the Gulf Department Martin Slipper the bilateral relations between the two friend countries, specially the agreements to be signed during al-Qirbi visit to South Africa in November.Slipper affirmed that the visit of Foreign Minister, al-Qirbi, to South Africa will open new horizons between the two countries through signing the partnership forum agreement, in addition to briefing the South African officials on situations in the region and peace process in Palestine.
