Broker of human organs trafficking arrested

The security services in the capital Sana'a have arrested a broker involved in trafficking human organs of Yemeni citizens, the Interior Ministry announced on Friday.
The security services said that they caught the accused person, called al-Masghari, 26, while he was in a hotel in Shoub district in the capital Sana'a after an investigation that confirmed his involvement in the human organs trade brokerage.The accused, al-Masghari, admitted during the investigation that he became a broker in this kind of trade after he sold one of his kidneys for USD 7 thousands in a hospital in Egypt a year ago, the security services pointed out.He confessed that during the last period he has persuaded a number of Yemenis to sell their organs in return for commission money was obtained.It is worth mentioning that the number of Yemeni victims of human organ trade is about 200 people, most of them sold their kidneys and some of them sold cornea of their eyes for amounts ranging between USD 5-7 thousands.
