Yemen partakes in IBD 35th annual meeting

Yemen is participating in the 35th annual meeting for the group of Islamic Bank for Development (IBD), which was being held in Baku capital of Azerbaijan.
In the opening session of the meeting, the president of Azerbaijan highlighted efforts of the bank in supporting the development in the member states, affirming his country for the efforts of the bank.Chairman of the bank Ahmed Mohammed reviewed activities of the bank and its future plan which includes efforts of enhancing the food security and combating poverty. The Yemeni delegation was headed by the deputy prime minister for economic affairs and minister of planning and international cooperation Abdul Kareem al-Arhabi. On the sideline the meeting, al-Arhabi held a meeting the chairman of the bank over the arrangements to hold then meeting of the bank in Yemen next year and support for the bank for assistance of displaced people in Saada.Two loan agreements were signed between Yemen and the bank to finance a project of the economic opportunities.Meanwhile, al-Arhabi met deputy chairman of Saudi Fund for Development and discussed aspects of the mutual cooperation between the fund.He also held talks with the director of the technical department at the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development over future projects of the fund in Yemen.He also discussed with the chairman of the international Fund for Agriculture Development IFAD a project of supporting the fishing sector in Yemen.
