Yemen to attend 43rd regular session of Arab Information Ministers Council

Information Minister Hasan al-Lawiz headed on Sunday to Egypt to participate in the 43rd regular session of the Arab Information Ministers council.
The meeting will take place in Egypt's capital, Cairo, on June 23.Upon departure, al-Lawiz said the council will discuss the recommendation of the Arab Media Standing Committee made at its exceptional meeting over the establishment of the Arab information commission and an executive office of the council as well as the recommendations made during the committee's ordinary meeting held ahead of the council meeting.Arab Information Ministers will evaluate the activities of the committee with a focus on improving its performance in line with its responsibilities and the nature of Arab information work that requires the participation of all Arab countries in the preparatory meetings of the council, he said.The meeting will also discuss measures related to positive interaction with the U.S. Congress's draft decision classifying Arab satellite owners as terrorist organizations operators in the light of terror-developments as well as the outcomes of discussions of the Arab League in Washington over the decision.Moreover, issues related to implementing the league decisions at the last Arab summit and ministerial levels; following up new Arab media plans outside; and media support required to support the Palestinian cause and other Arab crucial issues including supporting some Arab satellites, the level of implementing the ten-year plan for Arab partnership media and communication in the Arab World for 2009-2018 and Yemen's proposal for discussing the intellectual topic of dangers of sectarian regionalism media towards the future of the Arab nation will be addressed.
