Yemen to attend energy promotion conference in S Korea

Yemen, represented by Oil and Minerals Ministry, takes part in the energy promotion conference in South Korea on 21-26 June Deputy Oil and Minerals Minister, head of the Yemeni delegation to the conference, Abdul Malik Alama said Yemen will introduce global companies which will attend the meeting to investment opportunities in various fields, specifically oil, LNG and minerals exploration.
On the margins of the conference, Alama will meet with officials at the Korean Gas Corporation KOGAS over the contract signed between Yemen and KOGAS for selling LNG.President Ali Abdullah Saleh ordered last week to reconsider the contract so that the LNG prices under it cope with global prices.The order was given when Saleh presided over the cabinet meeting at which he urged to do major efforts to boost national economy and investment in oil, gas and minerals, fish and agriculture.After the meeting, Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi and Oil and Minerals Minister Amir Salim al-Aidrous met with the South Korean ambassador to Yemen Won Ho-Kwak and informed him of the move.
