Workshop on CEDAW launched in Aden

A workshop on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) launched here on Sunday.
The workshop was organized by the Women National Committee (WNC) in cooperation with the UNICEF and attended by 60 participants.The participants would deal, during two days, with the recommendation of the CEDAW international committee in the light of discussing the sixth national report in that regard and the implementation level of the convention.Undersecretary of Aden governorate for Investment and Resources Development Sector Ahmed al-Delaa'i affirmed the importance of the active participation of woman in the society.
He noted to the significance of giving the woman her rights and status as well as paying her more attention through training and rehabilitating her in order to enhance her contribution in the development process.The WNC Deputy Chairman Hooria Mashhour and the head of the WNC branch in Aden Qublah Saeed affirmed the importance of implementing the CEDAW for protecting woman form any discrimination form.
They also highlighted the need for developing the woman's skills to enable her to continue her role in the development process.
