Made-in-Yemen Campaign to start Monday in Taiz

The Made-in-Yemen Campaign is to start on Monday in the western province of Taiz under the sponsorship of Prime Minister Ali Mujawar. Minister of Trade and Industry Yahya al-Mutawakil told the September 26 website that the three-year campaign will aim to raise awareness among local market consumers about the importance of supporting national products. It will also aim to boost national industries through establishing standers and quality brands in conformity with those in the Arabian Gulf States.
The launch of the campaign will coincide with the meeting of the Yemeni Manufacturers that is expected to establish common visions to make the campaign a success, the minister said.
A supervisory committee for the campaign has been formed that comprised members from the concerned authorities and a specific package of activities has been prepared that will target schools, universities, manufacturers and the companies providing direct services for the people, he said.The campaign will include activities such as symposiums, studies and creating producer and exporter groups, the minister said, hoping that all concerned governmental bodies, mainly the media, react to the event with sense of national responsibility to support national products and enable them to compete with other products.
