UNESCO representative praises Yemen development

Regional representative of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Hamad bin Saif al-Hamami to the Gulf states and Yemen has made his first ever official visit to the country where he discussed with a number of concerned Yemeni officials the bilateral relations and means to reinforce them in a way to thoroughly benefit from the UNESCO's programs and plans. In an interview by Saba, al-Hamami expressed his admiration of the tangible Yemeni development in fields of education, science and culture which reveals the well-planned and steady steps towards acquiring a remarkable position in these vital fields.He affirmed that the transfer of Yemen membership from the UNSECO Cairo Office to that of the UNSECO Doha Office, which includes the six Gulf states, would give a great push to the Gulf states to offer a hand to Yemen, besides the UNESCO, noting the joint projects in the area of education as Yemen is a member of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States. Al-Hamami pointed out that his talks with Yemeni officials at the ministries of education, culture and higher education addressed requirements and priorities as well as proposed plans and difficulties to help improve performance of the concerned ministries on the ground to better and upgrade inputs and outputs of their activities in order to cover a wide range of the targeted groups.
