Yemen plays down U.S. warning to citizens

A source at the Interior Ministry played down on Thursday the warning made by the U.S. embassy to the U.S. citizens in Yemen that they should avoid visiting Mövenpick Hotel in Sana'a.
Such measures, sometimes taken by foreign missions in the country, are mainly precautionary, the source said.'A silly person may send an SMS to the embassy prompting such measures while proofs for threats remain unavailable.'There are no threats to the embassy and the U.S. citizens in Yemen, the source said, pointing to tight security at foreign missions and vital national facilities.Terrorist elements just seek through their media propaganda to confuse others and hamper development efforts and tourist influx into the country, the source concluded.Days ago, the embassy warned the U.S. citizens to avoid visiting Mövenpick hotel in Sana'a, saying in a statement they might be targeted
