Yemen, Saudi Arabia discuss health cooperation ties

The Yemeni ambassador to Saudi Arabia Mohammed al-Ahwal held Wednesday talks with Saudi Health Minister Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Rabeeah on aspects of developing heath cooperation between the two countries The talks dealt with the treatment of Yemeni patients in Saudi hospitals, humanitarian assistance for displaced persons, Saudi's support provided to Yemen for the fight against malaria and training medical cadres of Yemeni in Saudi Arabia.During the meeting, the Saudi minister expressed readiness to increase the number of grants for Yemeni patients to be treated in Saudi hospitals, particularly treatment ofcritical conditions.Al-Rabeeah affirmed support of nominating the Minister of Public Health and Population Abdul-Karim Rase'a for the post of Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean of World Health Organization.For his part, Yemeni ambassador expressed appreciation of Yemeni government for the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its political leadership represented by The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the unity and stability in Yemen.
