Yemen has requested compensations for the fishermen, who have been attacked by warships existing in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean to combat piracy, the weekly 26 September said on Thursday The weekly was quoted al-Qirbi as saying that Yemen has also demanded new mechanisms not to recur such attacks and opening fast investigations into the attacks.Moreover, Yemen has asked the all the countries, which have warships in the region, to join an operations management center to enhance coordination and communications, al-Qirbi said. The Minister said that some Yemeni fishermen have been killed and many others injured due to the attacks in addition to destroying a number of the fishing boats.Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi held on Wednesday a meeting with diplomats of each of EU, the US, Russia, Japan, India, and China. They discussed the attacks on Yemeni fishermen by some of their countries' warships existing in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean to combat piracy.Al-Qirbi has voiced his anxiousness about increasing the number of pirate operations in the region, in where tens of foreign marine worships exist
