Yemen expects oil production to decrease by 6.6 per cent

The government performance plan for 2010 has expected that oil production will decline by 6.6 per cent, almotamar.net reported Amid the prediction, the plan noted that Yemen intends to reduce the rate of unemployment to 15.2 per cent from 16.3 per cent.
The plan prepared by the Cabinet Presidency said the government will work to increase liquefied petroleum gas to 900000 metric tonnes and export 8.6 million metric tons of gas to the U.S. and S. Korean markets.
There are also plans to boost sectors such as minerals, extractive and transformative industries and tourism; and the government will also work to develop the additional interest of the agricultural sector by 3 per cent and limit qat cultivation to 9 per cent of the land planted with the tree, it said.Moreover, the plan predicted the additional interest in the fish sector will increase by 5.2 per cent; seaports will increase to nine and the maritime cargo to 8.5 million tonnes.The plan relies on modified goals of the third social and economic plan for reducing poverty 2006-2010, the second phase of national reforms 2009-2010 and the ten governmental priorities for the next two years.
