Foreign minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi has expressed astonishment about statements by the Somalia-based Young Mujahideen Movement that it was ready to send militants to Yemen.
Those exporting terror into the country should have contributed to bringing stability to their war-torn state, al-Qirbi said, reiterating Yemen never accepts Jihadist militants on its soil.Yemen has for years warned against slowness towards solutions to the deteriorating situation in Somalia, the land of terrorists and pirates, he added, pointing to the initiatives of President Saleh for bringing together Somali factions to establish peace and root out violence which resulted in soaring piracy and terrorism undermining the region's stability and security.Yemen will continue to support the Somali government supporting to establish peace and build the public institutions, he said, urging the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the country.Al-Qirbi's remarks came after the Somali movement announced it was ready to send terrorists to support their brothers under crackdown in Yemen, with scores killed and arrested in recent weeks. They also come amid a persistent influx of African refugees into the country, most of whom are Somalis and Ethiopians.
