Yemen, China sign three agreements worth CNY 105 mln

Yemen and China signed here on Monday three cooperation agreements between the two countries with CNY 105 million (1 CNY = $0.14). Under the three agreements, the Chinese government presents CNY 50 million to support the economic and technical cooperation areas between the two countries, a funding grant of CNY 50 million allocated to support the development sectors in Yemen as well as a relief assistance of CYN 5 million to the displaced people due to the insurgency war in Saada province.Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi, who signed the agreements with the Chinese ambassador in Sana'a Liu Denglin, valued the Chinese government's contributions to support the development process in Yemen.He affirmed the importance of exerting more efforts to boost the bilateral cooperation relations between Yemen and China, noting the strength and depth of the Yemeni-Chinese historical friendship ties.For his part, the Chinese ambassador confirmed his country's keenness to push forward the bilateral cooperation areas with Yemen , pointing the positive reflections of the historical visit of President Ali Abudllah Saleh to China in November ,2005 and the Chinese Vice-President's visit to Yemen in 2007.On another hand, Deputy Planning Minister Hisham Sharaf pointed out that signing these agreements comes within the Yemeni- Chinese joint efforts to put into force the decisions and results of the President Saleh's visit to China as well as the Chinese Vice-President's visit to Yemen.
